Had a lot of fun diving up at Cape Ann over the 4th of July weekend. On Friday the dive was to 152 ft, temp was 41 degrees, used a trimix of 25/30 it was a great dive. On Saturday went to Burnham Ledge to 132 ft then on to the Chester Polling. 4 Dives on Sunday, first two were scallop dives outside Boston Harbor, the afternoon dives were to Halfway Rock and then Paddock Rock. I slept very well that night.
Did a fantastic dive on the Oregon with a very special dive buddy. Carol Bathrick, you were super! The ship is filled with life the viz was pretty good once we decended to the side of the engines. Water temps are ok, 63 at the surfice, 45 at 115 ft. Carol did this is a wet suite, you are one awesome lady.
Tried to make it to the U853 and Black Point Saturday June 12 but the weather and seas said no. So after a 3 hour boat ride we headed back in and then drove up to Ft.Weatheral State Park. Did a 62 minute dive out past the point. Nice lots of life and the viz was not that bad.
Went to Brownstone Quarry this past weekend. The viz was not great but it was still fun to dive. This years dive season is off to a great start. Cave Diving in FL, Diving the marine sanctuaries of Cozumel and Cave Diving in the Yucatan. Club picnic at Dutch Springs, fun dives at the Brownstone and this weekend a dive on the German UBoat 853 off Block Island. Many more dives planned this will be a great dive season.
The BRATS picnic on May 22nd turned out to be a lot of fun. Dutch Springs is in pretty good shape. A few good dives and a lot to eat. If you are not already a member you should plan to join our local dive club. Learn about local diving in Connecticut. There are many local lakes that we dive in. Quassapaug, Lake Candlewood, Lake Zoar, West Hill Lake. All local good visability and fun to dive in.
